Save Our Waterwheel

The Save Our Waterwheel campaign was inspired by the class of 2009. As their class gift, they decided to add an eco-friendly generator to the waterwheel. This generator will use the power of the wheel to turn on the lights that illuminate it at night. However, before the generator could be installed, the wheel itself needed to be completely restored. The pump house needed of repairs. The class of 2010 also signed on to donate their class gift to the waterwheel.

We asked the Eastern community to partner with the classes 2009 and 2010 to Save Our Waterwheel, and we are so thankful for donations that we have received! We will be celebrating the waterwheel's restoration, as well as it's 100th birthday, this year at homecoming.

Please join us for this exciting celebration on Saturday, October 13, 2012!

"I loved the 'wheel' when I was a student at Eastern and ... it is still special to me. I purchased a print of the Waterwheel. It has been a great source of  'special Eastern memories' for my husband and me. Kudos to the Class of 2009 [and the Classes of 2010 and 2011]!" - Judy (Nash) Bollinger '74, in a letter to the Alumni Office
